Bandaid Therapy

What comes to mind when you think of a Band-aid or bandage?  Something to keep a wound from getting dirty or infected?  Or something to cover up an unsightly wound? Learn how the concept of a Band-aid or bandage can be applied to health and disease; find out why Band-aid Therapy for health should be a last resort.

Breaking the Antibiotic Cycle

Is this you:  You have a sinus infection or bladder infection; you seek medical care and are prescribed an antibiotic; after you stop taking the antibiotic, your symptoms return, causing you to see the medical doctor again for more antibiotics?  Before you know it, your symptoms do not go away and you are taking more and different antibiotics for longer and longer periods of time.  You are not alone; learn how to break the antibiotic cycle and get your life (and health) back on track!

Crossroads: Where Healing Begins

The circumstances we find ourselves in at any given moment can sometimes seem like a message.  Overwhelming odds can become major life achievements once the obstacles are overcome.  Many people choose natural means to help them through an obstacle that presents itself as an illness or disease process.  This story isn’t about how I have healed my life through natural health.  Instead, I am going to tell you about a little journey, and a little about myself along the way.

The Dangers of Self-Diagnosing

With the high cost of medical care, many people are choosing to delay medical treatment until they either cannot figure out what is wrong with them, or they have diagnosed themselves already, and their findings have suggested medical care.  But is self-diagnosing accurate; what are the dangers?  This article provides many answers to your self-diagnosing questions.

Disease Management vs. Cure, Part 1

“It’s just too expensive to be sick.  I’ll see one of those natural doctors and get cured.”  Alan spoke these words to the pharmacist when he went to pick up his prescription of Advair® for treating his asthma.  He never knew the inhaler cost over $262 per month; his co-pay had only been $20.  The high cost of disease management has led many people to search natural forms of healing in order to have better control over their disease, or for total and complete healing.  But is cure possible?

Food Lottery

Are you an average adult American?  If so, then you consume 70 pounds of beef, 60 pounds of pork, and 550 pounds of dairy (love that ice cream).  Americans feel safe eating because they know the foods they eat have been monitored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  But, how safe is our food industry really?  Do the USDA and FDA really monitor our food for quality and safety?  Is there anything to fear?

The History of Essiac Tea

The story of Essiac began in 1922.  A head nurse at the Sisters of Providence Hospital in Haileybury, Ontario, Canada, discovered the remedy.  Her name was Rene Caisse.  What follows was her struggle to get her discovery into the hands of those she felt could benefit from this special tea for cancer.

If You Haven't Tried Homeopathy...then you haven't tried everything

There are many books on the market about what causes all diseases:  genetics, germs, chemicals from foods or the environment, mercury fillings, pH imbalance, parasites, yeast, pressure on spinal nerves, blocked energy, emotions, and the list goes on....  Believe it or not, there is no one cause of all diseases.  However, the pattern of disease progression is very similar for all diseases.

Leap into Life

Each person comes to this planet with a “life purpose,” something you are here to do.  Part of the purpose is to better yourself; and the other part is something you are to do for the betterment of your people and/or the world.  For a Healer such as myself, part of my life purpose is to help others heal; indirectly I am also helping the person’s family, their community and the world.  The other part is to become a stronger, healthier person.

Liver Toxicity 101 and the P450 Pathway

The liver is the second largest organ in the body (skin is the first largest).  Surprising, few people know about the liver and its importance to health and well-being.  This article will discuss the functions of the liver, the challenges it faces, and what can be done when something goes awry with this very important organ.

Pain...Go Away!

The sensation of pain has been described in many ways, from “annoying” to “sharp”.  Sometimes it is a combination of feelings, like “an annoying itch”.  No matter the description, many times the pain leaves one reaching for Tylenol® or ibuprofen, or some prescription pain reliever.  Many people only know that pain is something they do not want to feel.  But what is pain, and what is its purpose?  And how do you get rid of it…permanently?

What is Health?

In many cultures, health is defined as the “absence” of something, such as the absence of symptoms, illness or disease, or as determined by someone else, such as a health practitioner or societal norms.  It seemed almost impossible to determine what health was if not discussing the “absence” of symptoms or illness.  Looking at the various philosophies of natural healing methods, most discuss the cause of illness or disease processes, but not what is health.

What's with This Rash Anyway?

Eczema.  Psoriasis.  Hives.  “I’m not sure what this itchy spot is.”  No matter the rash’s name, if it itches, it’s annoying.  Even if it doesn’t itch, it’s annoying because it’s on the skin and can be seen.  We like our skin to be smooth and free of spots, pimples, patches, wrinkles, etc.  You medicate it; but is it truly healed?
